Poinsettia Ornament, Inktense
Poinsettia with Buds
Here’s another poinsettia illustration I did recently using Derwent Inktense Pencils on bristol. It was really just a doodle but I thought it would look cute on some Christmas ornaments. I think it works; it’s very handmade-looking, don’t you think? It originally had some ribbons curled at the top, as if the whole thing was falling, but the ribbons were not perfect, so I edited them out.

Poinsettia Ornament
Poinsettia on Midnight Blue
Here’s a little poinsettia illustration I did last year using the gradient mesh feature in Illustrator. That’s how I got the green leaves turning to red petals. I added some ribbon and a dark blue background.
This design is available on several Christmas ornaments and on a Christmas mug. The mug design has more of a repeating pattern that wraps around the mug.

Paris Springtime
Paris Springtime
I was in the mood to play around with some watercolors. Watercolor effects, that is. I tried this and I tried that and things just started to come together. That’s how the creative process works sometimes.
This composition boasts hearts and tulips, a hint of a damask background, and the Eiffel Tower over which hovers a springtime script. The surroundings are awash with turquoise, violets and blues. Paris Springtime is featured on various products, including apparel like t-shirts, sweat shirts and pajamas. Other offerings include gifts items and things for the home and the office. Don’t forget bags and drinkware for a breath of spring you can take with you.

Mini Rose Antique Flourish Shoulder Bag
Mini Rose Flourish
This shoulder bag features a mini rose illustration done using the Gradient Mesh feature in Illustrator. The collage in the background is a combination of antique flourishes and shadowy designs, all on the palest yellow background.
This antique mini rose design is also featured on many other items, including apparel, office items, housewares, gift items, bags, and drink ware. On most versions of this design, the yellow background fades off, but on some of the products where the background can bleed to the edges, the pale yellow background is extended to the edges.

Daffodil Grunge Throw Pillow
Daffodil Grunge
Daffodil Grunge Throw Pillow features an original illustration on a composited background of flourishes, grungy bits, and an Art Nouveau decorative corner. The leafy flourishes are not characteristic of Daffodils or Jonquils, it’s just some greenery to brighten things up.
The illustration was created drawn and rendered in Illustrator using the Gradient Mesh feature. I’m also working on a more detailed “painted” version in Photoshop, but it’s not ready for public consumption yet. Soon.
The Daffodil Grunge design is also featured on other products such as light apparel, more household pieces, office items, bags, trinkets boxes and other gift items, and drinkware. See them in my Lines By Design shop.

WIth Love, Paris
Love, fashion, perfume, cafes, art, rich food, ornate decor. All of the these things come to mind when someone says Paris. This little composition pays homage to all we associate with that beautiful city. It’s like a love letter from Paris. The design features the Eiffel Tower, perfume bottles, dresses and dressmakers tools, a French swallow, ornate flourishes, along with a little bit of grunge. Can’t forget the grunge. Soft colorful pastels and a pale blue background.
This design has two flavors. On most items, the pale blue background fades off, but on items that allow it, the pale blue goes all the way to the edge. You’ll see. There are many products available featuring this design: apparel, household items, office items, trinket boxes and other gift items, bags, and drinkware.

Ride Free Motorcycle and American Flag
Ride Free Motorcycle & Flag
This design is based on two older illustrations of mine. The motorcycle is modeled after my own Honda Shadow VLX, and the flag is another illustration I did as a background for a v-twin engine illustration. I combined the two, and added the gold metallic circle and the shiny gold type that reads “RIDE FREE”. This is all original illustration work, including the gold type.
This particular version appears on dark apparel, but it can also be found light t-shirts, sweatshirts, pajamas, household items, office items, drink ware, and bags.

Living With the Throttle Wide Open
I wanted to create a design that relates the feeling of riding. When you open up that throttle, and feel the wind in your face and the warm sun on your arms, and spend a whole summer day out on the road.
Riding truly is a way of life. It reminds me of when I was a kid and spent the whole day outside. You just get used to being outside and smelling all the vegetation; the grass, the flowering bushes, and lost of other fragrant plant life. Sure, you have to take the bad with the good. Skunks, road kill, and other stinky things are out there to be found too, but that’s just part of riding. I’m not much of a gardener, so riding gets me into the outdoors. There’s something to be said for coming home feeling windblown. Living with the throttle wide open, living free!
This design is available on dark t-shirts and sweats, but there is also a version design for light backgrounds that appears on light apparel, bags, and various gift items. Roll on!

Awesome Person
Awesome Person
This design a my take on the “I’m with Stupid” shirts, only this one is a little more upbeat and not so insulting. Well, maybe just tongue-in-cheek insulting. An arrow points to the wearer, declaring that he or she is awesome, in red type with red hearts raising up off the letters. Then there are arrows pointing left and right, declaring “these people, not so much”, in basic blue. Okay, so no one will necessarily want to walk next to you, but, do they really have a choice? You can have some real fun with this one. Are you up for it? Thought so, because you are awesome!
Awesome person is available on many products, including light colored apparel, drinkware, bags and little personal items. Awesome Person is also available on black and dark apparel items, but with white arrows instead of black.
